During the last week of term we celebrated Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink 2015 with our classes from Nursery to P7 looking at a different aspects of Scottish Food, from farming in the lower part of our school to oats in P3, shortbread in P4 beef in P5, Scottish cheeses in P6 and fishing in P7. We had a mixture of activities happening throughout the week including a whole school show from Macastory who told us stories and sang songs about different foods,P3 made porridge and ate oat cakes, P4 made shortbread and designed their own packaging, P5 made beef stew, P6 were cheese tasting and P7 roasted 2 Scottish Salmon on a bonfire! It was all in all a very busy last week of term with a variety of delicious smells coming from different parts of school! More information from some of our classes on this topic can be found in the ‘About our School’ drop down menu, P1-P7 tab. We plan to revisit this topic during Fair Tarde Fortnight in February 2016 looking at similar themes in Fair Trade countries.
