Scottish FA Schools Cup

Currie P7’s went to the Scottish FA Schools Cup in Meggetland, we had a team of ten;

David, Cameron, Adam, Jack, Calum, Josh, Cameron, Ruaraidh, Scott

The winner from each group went on through the semi finals on a different date against the winner of the other three groups. In our group we had:

Stewart Melville team A

Stewart Melville team B

Corstorphine

Currie Primary (us)

Our first game was versus Team A of Stewart Melville. We lost 2-1. Jack scored the only goal in the game for our team and in the entire tournament for Currie. We were really unlucky in this game because we had pulled a goal back and had some momentum going but the half time was only twelve minutes and the full time was twenty four minutes.

Next we played Corstorphine and we lost 4-0. At half time it was only 1-0 to them but we got a bit tired and lost three unfortunate mistakes that led to unlucky goals. They outpaced us and we weren’t on our game, but by the end it was the game that knocked us out of the tournament but we were unlucky we knew a few players from this team. We still had another game to play even though we were out.

Our last game was against Stewart Melville team B. We started off really well but suddenly we let it slip and they ran through us and scored just before half time. We were gutted we went into the second half and lost another goal. After that we just passed the ball around and we ended up losing 2-0. Even though we lost we will keep our heads held high and hope for better luck in the future.

When we got back we got lunch at 1445 and then went to the classroom and got packed up and went home at 1515.

Thanks to the coaches and parents who made this fun day out possible for these ten kids.
