Fairtrade

Many thanks to everyone who came in to our Fairtrade Showcase and Café on Friday morning and to Mrs McGlynn and our Fairtrade Council for organising this event for us. Our classes have all been enjoying learning about different aspects of Fairtrade during our Fairtrade Fortnight celebrations and the difference Fairtrade can make to farmers and their families living in different countries around the world. P5 wrote some fantastic class poems about Fairtrade as part of this work. Kyle’s verse from P5As poem is very thought provoking. Kyle wrote

“Do you ever put thought into your food?

For those unfair wages,

Low payment in stages

Have knock on effects, I should think.

Think of the child who searches for water every day

For them to have an education, would you pay?”
