Active Schools would like to let you know about an exciting opportunity coming to pupils in Edinburgh. In partnership with JudoScotland and ESSN Judo Disability Group. Active Schools are hosting an Additional Support Needs judo taster sessions for primary pupils P4-7 and secondary pupils S1-6. These sessions are open to all disability groups. Both venues are accessible.
North East Edinburgh
Venue: Hermitage Park Primary School, 9 Hermitage Park, EH6 8HD
Date: Thursday 10th Nov
Primary P4-7 4.30-5.10pm.
Secondary S1-6 5.20-6.00pm
North West Edinburgh
Venue: (EN)gage Sports Centre, Edinburgh Napier University, Sighthill Campus, EH11 4BN
Date: Tuesday 15th Nov
Primary P4-7 6.00-6.40pm.
Secondary S1-6 6.50-7.30pm
The sessions will be delivered by qualified judo coaches who have training and experience of working with children with additional support needs. Active Schools staff, including myself, will also be present at the sessions. The maximum participant numbers per session will be 10 children. The sessions are all about having fun and giving participants the chance to try out judo, no prior experience is necessary.
We would welcome parents to stay and watch sessions and meet judo coaches.
The judo sessions will culminate in an Additional Support Needs Judo Festival at (EN)gage Sports Centre, Edinburgh Napier College, Sighthill Campus, EH11 4BN on Tuesday 22nd November. Following the event participants will be offered 4 complimentary judo sessions with Jidel Judo.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
If your child is interested in attending one or all of the free sessions please phone me to book a place and I will forward an application form via email or take your details over the phone. Please note there are limited spaces therefore places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Closing date for applications is Friday 4th November.
