Our P1 teachers have been reading some stories for their new classes. We hope you all enjoy them.
Some of our current P1s wanted to share some information about life in P1 to welcome our new pupils starting in August 2020.
Our P1 teachers have made virtual tour of our school so all our new P1s can have a little peek round school and meet some of our staff.
Dear Parents/Carers
Primary 1 Transition Project – We’re Going on a Bear Hunt
The City wide transition to Primary 1 project this year is linked to the book ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury.
We were going to do lots of activities in Nursery before moving into Primary 1 however, due to school closures this is going to look a bit different. The City of Edinburgh Council Early Years Team have sent a letter re this which I have attached for all Parents/Carers. This explains the project and includes the links to the website they have created and the associated activities that you can do at home with your child. www.bearhuntedinburgh.wordpress.com
This website will be updated regularly. When your child is in Primary 1 we will look revisit the book and undertake activities linked to it so the hope is that all children are familiar with it. The leaflets below also explain the importance of the transition process and the possible activities that will be shared on the website.
We also ask that you complete the transition proforma with your child so that they can take this with them to school when they start.
In the meantime stay safe and look after each other.
Kind regards
Mrs McAndrew
