As part of our celebrations for Scottish Book Week Currie Primary School were delighted to welcome author and illustrator Sophy Henn to school. Our pupil led Book Club and Primaries 1-4 were invited to meet Sophy in the Main Hall and learn about her style of illustration and the books she has created. We got to find out about how Sophy gets her ideas, the characters she has created, and we even got to make some of our own. We all did a fun draw along with Sophy and our finished characters looked great.
At the end there was a chance to buy one of her new Happy Hills books and Sophy wrote a personal message to each pupil who purchased one. Everyone really enjoyed the session and participated enthusiastically. Thank you to Sophy for coming and to The Scottish Book Trust who organised the tour.
