Currie Primary Weaving With Expert

Currie Primary School P5 were weaving with an expert from Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life. They learnt how to weave, where materials come from and tried some of their own weaving that they enjoyed very much. The expert, David showed them how to weave in stripes or just in one colour. They learnt where, wool, silk, cotton and polyester comes from. They learnt what weaving is and what we use it for. P5 had the most amazing time trying out weaving for the first time. Some are inspired to try more and harder designs. Thank You David, Summerlee Museum!

Scots Assembly

Congratulations to all of the finalists who performed at our Scots Assembly on Friday. The children all did an amazing job of performing their poems in front of us all. We also enjoyed music from Bella on her chanter and some wonderful highland dancing from many of our pupils. It was lovely to welcome back former pupils, Kelsey and Carah, who danced with their sister Kaycee.

Thank you to everyone for coming along. We hope you enjoyed joining us for assembly.

Sports Hall Athletics

We are enormously proud of our P6 and P7 Sports Hall Athletics team who came 3rd in the finals on Monday over at Meadowbank Stadium. The team gave 100% in each of their events and cheered each other on throughout the whole day. There were 90 schools entered at the beginning of this competition last term and we are delighted with 3rd place! A huge thank you to Mr Donaldson, our PE Teacher, for getting the team ready and to all of the parents who accompanied the team to the events.

Snowy fun at break and lunch

We had a lovely first day back in school today both in the classrooms and outside on the field at break and lunchtime playing in the snow! Some of our P4s started to build a very impressive igloo which other children continued to build when they came out at lunchtime.

Christmas Eve Acrostic Poem

Christmas Eve, children safe in their beds

Hoping for presents everyone said

Ringing of bells in the town square

Immediately filled with carollers everywhere

Santa’s here, as quiet as a mouse

To deliver presents to every single house

Much people are loved, much people are cared

As everyone shares and shares and shares

Seasons greetings to all
