A huge thank you to everyone on our PTA for all their hard work in raising the money to fund the two new pieces of fixed equipment for our playground. The children asked for something to climb on and we are so excited to be getting a new climbing wall and climbing frame for our playground sometime next term. The climbing wall will go around the side of the playground and the climbing frame in our back playground.
Thank you to everyone for coming along to join us for Sports Day and our picnic on Thursday! Congratulations to the Golden Eagles, who were this year’s winning house!
Some pupils from Currie Primary School have been redesigning our outdoor Atrium. At the moment it has weeds that are overgrown and toys that are broken. Our head teacher, Ms Hourston decided that we will be transforming it into a sensory garden. Yesterday we went to the garden centre to go get plants for it. They need to smell nice, look nice and feel nice. We got Angels Wings. We also got lavender too. We are so thankful to Riccarton Garden Centre for giving us 3 free bag of compost for our plants. Thank you! Another thank you is to Waitrose for giving us the money to do it – thank you so much!

Sessions and timings are:
10.00 – 10.45am Mini Red (ages 5 – 7yrs).
11.00 – 12.00 Mini Orange (ages 8 – 9yrs)
12.00 – 13.00 Green Ball (ages 9 – 11yrs.
All sessions to be FREE of charge held at Oriam with all equipment provided held on indoor courts 1 and 2.

Thank you to everyone on the PTA for all of the planning and organising that went into making our annual May Fayre such a huge success again this year, and to everyone for coming along to support this event and our school. It was such a lovely day – we love to see the school and playground so busy. Lovely to see live performances from Simon Says Dance, Hamilton Heel and Toe and La Belle Arts too. All of the money raised is going towards buying some fixed play equipment for our playground. As soon as we have the final amounts raised we will let you know. Thank you to Mr Harrower for the drone shots of the day!

Our P6/7 Girls Football Team enjoyed a friendly game against Juniper Green this afternoon as part of their preparations for a tournament they are playing in next week.
We hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. Just a reminder that school is closed to pupils tomorrow, Tuesday 7 May 2024, as it is an in-service day for staff. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Wednesday 8 May 2024.
We enjoyed sharing our ‘germs’ with the Eye Pavilion recently so staff there could create a display for Hand Hygiene Day at the end of April. Our germs are on display across the different floors of the Eye Pavilion. Thank you to Mrs Tollins for sending us some photos of the displays.
A huge congratulations to Miss Nicholson who ran the London marathon yesterday in 4 hours 40 minutes! We are all so proud of Miss Nicholson for this massive achievement – and for making it back to school this morning!
