Thank you to everyone for sending in the Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers – this year we have gathered and banked a record 28, 220 vouchers! With these vouchers some of our children have been busy choosing equipment for the playground for playing with at break and lunch times including giant Jenga, Chess and Draughts sets, hoops, ropes, twirling ribbons, balls, target games and skittles and 2 giant storage containers to keep everything in! We are expecting to take delivery of these new resources around October 2017!
Currie Friday Night Youth Club
Currie Friday Night Youth Club is held once a month in Currie Community Centre for children in Primary 5 and above. Our members are currently renewing their memberships for next term and we are also giving new members an opportunity to join for next term.
Our P5/P6 night is 7pm until 9pm. There is a separate night for P7 and above, 7.30-9.30.
There are lots of great activities on offer including netball, wii, pool, crafts, football, X Box, tuck shop and lots more.
We are holding an open evening on Friday 16th June, 6.15-6.45 so children (and their parents/guardians) who would like to become members of the club can come and look round, ask questions and fill in an application form/pay membership fee. We are especially inviting children who will be moving into Primary 5 after the summer holidays, although anyone who would like to become a member can come along.
Membership is £5 a year, with entry fee of £1 each night. The club runs during term time and dates are advised by email after membership. Please note, the club is extremely popular, therefore, membership numbers may need to be restricted and names may need to go onto a waiting list.
If you would like to become a member but cannot attend the open evening, please email;
Bugsy Malone
P7 performed their end of year show of Bugsy Malone to our school this morning and their parents and family members this afternoon. P7 have worked very, very hard rehearsing this show over the last few weeks and it was fantastic! We hope everyone enjoyed it as much as P7 enjoyed performing it! A huge thank you to Mrs Laird and Mrs Tate for their hard work in creating the script and directing the show, to Mrs Galloway for coming in for rehearsals and accompanying the show for the performances and to Mr Donaldson for getting the hall ready for the show.
Expression de la semaine

Our ‘expression de la semaine’ is
“Je suis fatigué” (male) or “Je suis fatiguée” (female)
which means, ‘I am tired.’ As always it would be great if you could encourage the children to use this expression plus our previous expressions of the week at home as well as in school – merci beaucoup
Back to school uniform
With still 3 weeks to go until the summer the holidays I noticed this weekend that the shops are, of course, advertising back to school uniforms!
We are really proud of our uniform and really appreciate parents and carers thoughts and efforts to support our school by encouraging your children to wear it. If possible we would love the children to wear our school tie with a white shirt or blouse or to wear polo shirts (navy, purple or white) and sweatshirts (P1- P6 navy and P7 purple) with our school badge on them. However, we fully understand that you might be able to get polo shirts and sweatshirts a little cheaper in many of the high street shops – if you are buying new school uniform from the high street shops please remember our school colours are navy and purple.
