Please note further to our ParentPay communication yesterday Sports Day is cancelled today. As soon as we are able we will advise you of the alternative date. It is likely to be in the last week of term

Our ‘expression de la semaine’ is
‘ça va?’
which means, ‘How are you?’ As always it would be great if you could encourage the children to use this expression plus our previous expressions of the week at home as well as in school – merci beaucoup!

Our lunch ladies have set us all the challenge of eating the rainbow this week in school – the challenge is to eat a different colour of fruit every day! It all look delicious
Mrs Elliot, our PE teacher, was at the EPSA Interscholastics event at Meadowbank on Monday with our P6 and P7 most successful athletics team ever! The pupils were great and every one represented Currie Primary School fabulously on and off the track and field. Currie Primary School came 8th overall out of 39 schools, which is a fantastic result. The boys team came third overall and we got into all the running semi-finals and last 10 in all field events.
A very special congratulation to Maddie who got into the final of the 80m (P6 and under) and came 5th, and to Mackenzie, Joseph, Matthew and Daniel our P6 boys relay team coming 4th after a photo finish – yes the judges had to look at a photo finish to decide 3rd and 4th place! Our P7 boys ran a fantastic race in the relay, winning easily and missed out on the record by just 0.08 of a second – well done Theo, Leni, Sam and Andrew! Finally, a huge congratulation to Theo who won the long jump, smashing the long jump record by 17cm, jumping a massive 4.80 m!
Thank you to Mrs Elliot for getting our team ready for this event and for losing her voice shouting everyone on, on the day!
Well done to all the children, parents, grandparents and friends of Currie Primary for making last Saturday’s May Fayre a massive success.
This has been our most successful May Fayre ever making a record breaking profit of £6806. 78. This is amazing and everyone on the PTA would like to thank you all for supporting our school. We still have more money to come in so when it does our total will actually exceed £7k.
A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time leading up to the fair, setting up, helping at the fair and tidying up at the end. And a special thank you to all our face painters who were extremely busy all day and kept going despite their sore backs. The kids loved their character faces and coloured hair.
None of this is possible without the support of all of the volunteers who came forward.
Most of the money raised is going into the development of the playground, more information re this will be issued.
Thank you and well done everyone!
