Currie Primary School Shows Racism the Red Card
On Friday the 4th of October 2019 Currie Primary School took part in the ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ initiative. We all wore red clothes to school and some people brought in a donation of £1. In assembly and in class we discussed important messages around racism and how important it is to treat everyone regardless of skin colour or religion the same. The Pupil Council counted the money we raised for this charity and we made £217.05! We hope it might help educate people and stop racism.

Show Racism the Red Card

On Friday 4 October 2019 we will be taking part in this year’s ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ day by all wearing red to school. Racism continues to be the highest reported hate crime in Scotland with many people suffering abuse each day. By raising awareness of this issue and celebrating our uniqueness as well as our similarities we can make a difference in creating a better more tolerant world. Everyone who would like to should wear something red to school and, if you are able to, make a small donation (suggested donation £1) to this very worth while cause.
Beetle Drive
We had a lovely evening in school last night at our Annual PTA Beetle Drive. It was great to see so many families come along to support this event. Congratulations to Ruairi for winning stand up bingo, Samuel and his family for winning the Beetle Drive and Mrs Duncan who won the wooden spoon! A big thank you to Mrs Donnachie and our PTA for organising this event.
