Interscholastics Success

Mrs Elliot, our PE teacher, was at the EPSA Interscholastics event at Meadowbank on Monday with our P6 and P7 most successful  athletics team ever! The pupils were great and every one represented Currie Primary  School  fabulously on and off the track and field. Currie Primary School came 8th overall out of 39 schools, which is a fantastic result. The boys team came third overall and we got into all the running semi-finals and last 10 in all field events.
A very special congratulation to Maddie who got into the final of the 80m (P6 and under) and came 5th, and to Mackenzie, Joseph, Matthew and Daniel our P6 boys relay team coming 4th after a photo finish – yes the judges had to look at a photo finish to decide 3rd and 4th place! Our P7 boys ran a fantastic race in the relay, winning easily and missed out on the record by just 0.08 of a second – well done Theo, Leni, Sam and Andrew! Finally, a huge congratulation to Theo who won the long jump, smashing the long jump record by 17cm, jumping a massive 4.80 m!

Thank you to Mrs Elliot for getting our team ready for this event and for losing her voice shouting everyone on, on the day!

May Fayre up-date

Well done to all the children, parents, grandparents and friends of Currie Primary for making last Saturday’s May Fayre a massive success.

This has been our most successful May Fayre ever making a record breaking profit of £6806. 78.  This is amazing and everyone on the PTA would like to thank you all for supporting our school.  We still have more money to come in so when it does our total will actually exceed £7k.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time leading up to the fair, setting up, helping at the fair and tidying up at the end.  And a special thank you to all our face painters who were extremely busy all day and kept going despite their sore backs.  The kids loved their character faces and coloured hair.

None of this is possible without the support of all of the volunteers who came forward.

Most of the money raised is going into the development of the playground, more information re this will be issued.

Thank you and well done everyone!

May Fayre 2017

It was lovely to see school so busy on Saturday with everyone who came along to take part in our annual May Fayre organised by our PTA and to support the fundraising for our playground developments. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and had a good afternoon! We are counting the money raised on Monday evening and will let you all know how much we made once we have a total.  Thank you to all the parents, staff and friends of school for helping to set up, run the stalls and tidy up at the end of the Fayre.

A huge thank you from everyone connected to Currie Primary School to our wonderful PTA for all their time, effort and ideas to ensure the smooth running of events such as the May Fayre which results in additional resources for our school. Our pupils have some fantastic ideas for things they would like to have in our playground and all the work the PTA have put into the various fundraising events organised throughout this year will help us to achieve these plans!

Tesco Bags of Help

getimage-ashx

Great news – we received an email yesterday from Tesco with the following message:-

‘We are delighted to let you know that following the Tesco Bags of Help vote in your local Tesco stores, your project came first and has been chosen by Tesco Customers to receive a grant award of £5,000.00!’

Thank you to everyone who took the time to pop the voting tokens into our box in the Tesco stores when you were in shopping. Once we know where our extension is going to go we will be able to make a start on our playground developments!
