Our ‘expression de la semaine’  is

‘pardon’

which means, ‘excuse me’ or ‘sorry’.   Once more it would be great if you could encourage the children to use this expression plus our previous expressions of the week at home as well as in school – merci beaucoup!

Primary 6 are starting work on the John Muir Award and we would really like to achieve this with your help. In order to gain the award, we are going to conserve our playground. We hope to make it a lot better by taking the mess away and improving it. Some of our ideas include: painting benches, digging a pond and making dens out of willow.

It would be great if you had any donations of the following:

• Lego bricks
• Gardening tools and gardening gloves
• Large stones
• Old tyres
• Logs/timber
• 2 litre empty plastic bottles (loads)
• Plant/flower seeds
• Plant pots
• Or anything else you have that you think might be useful!

We are also really keen to have some adult help. If you are an experienced gardener, painter, really crafty or just really keen, then PLEASE come and help us. You could let us know if you’re interested in helping by contacting the school via the admin email address and a P6 will get in touch with you.

We are really excited about this project and we look forward to hopefully receiving some donations.

P6 recently entered a poetry competition run by Young Writers, and we have just found out that a number of their poems have been selected for publication!

The pupils had to write a poem in the style if their choice, based on the theme “dreams”. The winning poems will be printed in a book titled Once Upon A Dream – The East Of Scotland, scheduled to be published on June 30th.

Well done, P6!

Here are a few of the beautiful and imaginative Easter / Spring Bonnets in school yesterday! Everyone looked amazing!

Thank you to everyone who has been dropping the blue voting tokens from Tesco into our box in Edinburgh over the last 4 weeks. The voting continues until the 29^th of April 2017 so please keep voting for us! Although we appear to be in the lead in the Tesco at Hermiston Gait, we are not winning in all the other boxes in Tesco stores around the city so every token counts!
