Project Wonderland

Over the last few weeks P7 have been working with Duncan from the Lyceum Theatre to do a workshop called Project Wonderland. We played games and made still images and a short scene from the film. We made some changes to make it our own. We did a play on 27.11.16 for P6s and for each others classes. We all like doing this work. Click on teh lonks belwo to see our videoes. Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 16 December 2016

thca0x9edh

We will be taking part in the Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 16 December 2016 where everyone can wear the Christmas Jumpers to school or decorate their school sweatshirts with tinsel etc. and make a donation to Save the Children. This donation is not compulsory and we hope that as many of our staff and children will take part as possible which will raise awareness of this incredible charity.

In addition, the children might like to wear their Christmas jumpers, Santa hats, reindeer antlers etc. to the Panto on Tuesday 13 December 2016. In the past every Friday in December has turned into Christmas Jumper day in school and also the last week of term – we are happy for this tradition to continue this year too!

Christmas Fayre

Many thanks to everyone who came along on Wednesday evening to support the P6 Christmas Fayre. Our P6 ‘elves’ have been really busy over the last few weeks preparing for the fayre, ordering everything they need and making and pricing their decorations, cards and so on and selling on the night. Thursday and Friday were spent counting the money that came in on the night of the Fayre and working out the profit. At the last count it looks as though P6 made a profit of just over £1100 which is just amazing and a fantastic reward for all their hard work – looks like we have some talented entrepreneurs within our P6 classes! P6 will decide what they would like to do with the money they made and we will let you know as soon as they have decided.

A big thank you to our dedicated PTA for organising the stall holders in the gym hall and to Mrs Galloway and Mrs Fergusson who organised the entertainment with the Community Choir and school choirs singing together and all of P6 singing their German songs

Christmas in School

School is looking lovely and Christmassy as we have our beautiful Christmas banners up in the Main Hall and our Christmas trees in the entrance and main hall – a huge thank you to The Riccarton Garden Centre for giving us such a great deal on our beautiful Christmas trees. All our classes were involved in making the banners again this year – next time you are in school please pop into the Main Hall and see them!

ECO Committee

The Eco Committee did a brilliant job on Friday decorating the trees in the front playground. They made decorations using sticks from the school grounds, and some that were kindly donated. We think it gives the playground a nice festive feel!
